Profile

Jim is an Illustrator for Film and Television, specializing in Storyboards, Key Frames, Concepts and Animatics. He has over 30 years of experience in the Motion Picture Industry having worked on more than 90 films on location and remote.

Jim has a reputation for working comfortably alongside Directors, Production Designers, VFX Supervisors, Stunt Coordinators, and 2nd Unit Directors. He has a natural ability to breakdown and visualize complicated sequences, emphasize story points, and find creative solutions to technical and logistical problems.

As a STORYBOARD ARTIST Jim listens to the Director’s vision of a scene. Jim takes those ideas and works off the script, he then storyboards quick thumbnails. Jim presents these thumbnails to the Director to make sure he has interpreted the Directors vision. Once the thumbnails have been approved, Jim makes a quick animatic so the Director can see the sequence move in real time. Then, Jim will render the storyboards and insert them into the animatic for presentation to the production team.

“Being part of a team of visionaries is what makes storyboarding so rewarding.”
